Info Sessions
Info Sessions are events for prospective DJs to come and see what The 'Burg's all about. These campaigns are designed to entice students to show up and learn how to get involved and create their own show.
Listener Surveys
Listener Surveys are annual questionnaires put out by The 'Burg to gauge what genres and styles of music our audience is looking to hear more of. These campaigns brought in record number of participants and gave us important insights into our demographic.
The first campaign from 2024, "Tell us what YOUR music central sounds like!" played on the station's slogan, "your music central." I cut out the letters, hanging them with string over a printed-out cloudy background to capture the feeling of whimsical, child-like approachability. The imagery was inspired by the season of spring, which is when the survey took place, but also symbolizes change, as the station has the potential to do with the results of the survey. The character in the campaign is 'Burgfoot, the station's mascot.
The second campaign, from 2025, asked the audience to "tell us what's in your head." For the visuals and feeling of this campaign I wanted to take some similar elements from the previous year's (colors, spring symbolism) for recognizability, but push it in a different, fresh direction. After experimenting with a few ideas, I decided to use clay to create the 'Burgfoot mascot and other characters for him to interact with including a rabbit, a worm, and a duck.
For this project I worked with the station's videographer, Logan Booth, to create three claymation videos for the main, social media side of the campaign. The assets from these videos were then used to create the survey poster, flier, and website banner.
